“This challenge will be the ultimate test of endurance and self-discovery…”
KYLE WILLS
Growing up in London, Ontario, I had what many would consider a great childhood—loving family, good friends, and plenty of energy. But as I entered my early 20s, everything changed. I found myself fighting a debilitating and terrifying battle with depression that consumed my thoughts and energy. It felt like a constant battle I couldn’t win. Eventually, I turned to running as a form of release, something to help manage the overwhelming emotions. It wasn’t easy, but over time, I began completing marathons. Still, something was missing—I was searching for a greater challenge, a way to push myself even further.
That drive eventually brought me to Vancouver, BC, where the ocean and mountains instantly captivated me. The beauty of the Pacific Northwest became a place where I could test myself in new ways. It was here that I really began to understand my limits—and how to exceed them. I threw myself into ultramarathons, finishing multiple 100-mile trail races in the rugged backcountry of British Columbia and the Swiss Alps.
I didn’t stop there either; I pursued new passions, becoming an aerobatic pilot, skydiver, backcountry skier, and taking on other adventures that would continue to challenge me both mentally and physically. Each new pursuit fueled my desire to discover just how far I could push myself.
This relentless curiosity and drive have now led me to the World’s Toughest Row. In 2026, I’ll be rowing solo across the Atlantic Ocean, embarking on a 4,800 km journey from La Gomera, Spain, to Antigua in the Caribbean. This challenge represents the ultimate test of endurance and mental toughness, forcing me to dig deep in ways I’ve never experienced before. I know it will be a journey of self-discovery and transformation, and though I can’t predict everything I’ll learn, I know one thing for sure: I’ll always be asking, “What’s next?”

Although I’m facing this challenge solo, it will take a community to make it happen. I am actively seeking corporate sponsors, partnerships with likeminded companies, and donations to support this journey.
